Surround Sound Echoes

Surround sound echo!!!!?
I just got a new tv, and hooked up my surround sound dvd player the same way it was with my old tv. now there is an echo (small time difference between TV and Surround sound) happens when watching TV, or DVD’s. any help is greatly appreciated
Turn off you TV’s speakers.
Just so you know, to get actual surround sound, you need to hook up you tv to your reciever using an optical cable, digital coax, or HDMI.
